Analysis

Since it began in February 2010, the Observatory has been carrying out research and analysis projects with a specific London focus.

Our analysis tackles key issues affecting Londoner's today and builds a comprehensive picture of the skills and employment landscape in the capital. It also strives to identify information and research gaps and suggest how these are best addressed.

Apprenticeships

The Mayor has set a target of 100,000 Apprenticeships in London by the end of 2012. However, expanding Apprenticeship numbers in the current economic climate of slow private sector jobs growth and shrinking public sector budgets presents significant challenges.

Our analysis asks what more can be done in London to encourage  employers to take on apprentices and how can we boost the number of Apprenticeships in the capital in 2011/12 - and beyond?
