Data available via the Observatory

The Observatory currently provides direct access to data and charts for 14 core indicators. These core indicators are intended to provide a regular overview of the health of London's labour market and were chosen after detailed consultation with Observatory partners and using the following criteria:

  • coverage of different aspects of the labour market
  • reliability
  • frequency of release
  • timeliness
  • availability at borough, sub regional and a regional level.

Data for a fuller list of indicators is also available. It is anticipated that this data will eventually cover up to 80 indicators, organised under the following themes:

  • Economy and productivity
  • Demand for labour - Jobs, vacancies and skills needs
  • Population & supply of labour
  • Skills and learning
  • Worklessness and young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEET)

The additional indicators are currently being released and will be made available via a rolling publication programme until the end of July 2010. Both the core and full list of indicators will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
