London Mayor Boris Johnson has announced the establishment of the London Enterprise Panel with the aim to drive regeneration and boost economic growth in the capital. The local enterprise partnership will include representative from London boroughs and business leaders. The panel will advise the Mayor on the best ways to attract strategic investment to support private sector growth and employment, promote enterprise, increase skill levels and protect and enhance London’s competitiveness.
The panel will also be supported by a Skills and Employment working group. This will be made of up of key stakeholders in the Skills and Employment industry who will focus on building on the legacy of the London Skills and Employment Board. The first panel meeting will be on Tuesday 21st February and will be co-chaired by the Mayor and Harvey McGrath, Chairman of Prudential plc.
