The London Skills & Employment Observatory believes the protection of your privacy to be of utmost importance. The purpose of the following Privacy Statement is to inform users about the types of personal information that is collected, how this information is used and disclosed, and the lengths that the London Skills & Employment Observatory go to protect the privacy of users.
The Privacy Statement does not cover any external websites that are linked out to via the Observatory website.

The London Skills & Employment Observatory does not capture or store information on users unless users have willingly provided details when signing up to receive regular correspondence, or if users wish to interact with the website. The London Skills & Employment Observatory are in compliance with the principles that are set out in Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act 1998

The London Skills & Employment Observatory will only use personal data in accordance with the terms of consent given by the individual, and/or (where applicable) the terms of the agreement under which they are supplied to the Observatory. Use of personal data outside the purposes for which the data was obtained is a breach of the Observatory’s data protection policy. Where personal data supplied to the Observatory is considered to be inaccurate or not fit for the intended purpose, the Observatory will securely dispose it.

The London Skills & Employment Observatory are keen to ensure that all personal data held is accurate and up to date. It is however, the user’s responsibility to ensure that we hold the most up to date contact information if you wish to receive correspondence from the Observatory.
Rights and responsibilities
Personal data will always be processed in accordance with the individual’s rights. The confidentiality of personal data is a disciplinary matter and staff handling personal data are informed of this.
Security
To ensure the security of personal data, the London Skills & Employment Observatory take the following steps:
- An absolute minimum number of people have access to personal data that is supplied to the Observatory
- All personal data that is supplied to the Observatory for the purpose of correspondence is saved on the secure server in password protected folders, to which a limited number of people will have access.
- When personal data is no longer required, the Observatory will securely dispose of the information in line with the 1998 Act.
- No personal data will be stored in hardcopy format, and the London Skills & Employment Observatory do not foresee an occasion where it will be necessary to take personal information out of the office. However, if a need does arise for this to happen, the Observatory will use password protected memory sticks with restricted access to store personal data whilst away from the office.
- Personal data will never be transferred to any third party.
Cookies
The London Skills & Employment Observatory does not use cookies that store personal information.

Users subscribing to receive information from us can unsubscribe from receiving such information at any time either by following the unsubscribe link sent with all electronic communications, or by emailing us.
